That could have been a great character to explore friendship and romantic relationships, or how to avoid poverty, but nop. I mean, he is a biker, he is homeless, he has a toxic relationship with his ex-girlfriend, he doesn’t have any social network. Johnny (your protagonist) is a badass, but it could have been even greater with a more thoughtful development.The bikers are also older than the “regular” (the younger was around 30), so it’s kinda ridiculous watch this middle age men acting like fifteen year olds posting selfies with the gangsta life. Jim’s death (the closer you have to a friend) is killed offscreen (by Niko no less). I didn’t get the feel this guys care about each other, or any justification about why they are so intense with the band in the first place. It doesn’t help about how they are all “brothers forever <3” but when looking closely, this people don’t share any bond except their jackets. I get maybe the point was about how stupid and old fashioned this way of life is, but yet. These people didn’t have any objective, except kill other gangs because… reasons. This isn’t the first “gang” game for me of this franchise, but at least in San Andreas, the gangs (apart from making money) were aiming to expel drug lords from their neighbourhood and fight police brutality.
The bikers were generic and not really developed (I can’t even tell them apart most of the time!). It was the thing it could have been? Absolutely not. It was entertaining and a good game? Yes. So I can’t even write how disappointed I was with this game. I expected hard rock (I got that) and concerts (didn’t T_T). The biker gang culture/aesthetics is awesome as a background for a GTA game (I love that shit too, don’t ask me why).
